Montreal Chinese (Mandarin) established in 1983. It’s mission is to promote overseas Chinese language education and Chinese culture. It is one of the largest Chinese schools in Montreal. Starting from 60 students, it has grown to more than 1,200 at present. From a tutorial school-style organization, it has been developed into a non-profit organization registered by the government. From blackboard-style classes to multimedia teaching. It has a sound organization which is comprised of a board of directors, parent committee, teaching team, volunteer team etc.
Classes are given on Sundays. Upon requests of many parents, School also offers English, French, Math, Science tutoring remedial classes at all levels set up according to the local primary and secondary school syllabus. There are more than 70 teachers in Chinese and other classes.. Each class is taught two hours a week and students can select the morning or afternoon sessions, two semesters per year, respectively 15 and 16 weeks per semester. Students have the option of choosing the traditional or simplified writing classes and the teaching of both starts with Chinese Pinyin.
Over the years, the surrounding environment and society have been rapidly evolving, and the school has also evolved in order to cope with the times. The whole team never becomes complacent and strives to make the school better and better.
